Congressional Leaders, Public Health Experts Announce New Framework to Promote Women's Health
02/12/2009 - Women's health must be part of the national debate on health care reform. Two legislators are hoping their newly introduced Congressional resolution will do just that.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) and Rep. Jan Schakowski (D-Ill.) have teamed up to get the resolution passed in the hopes of ensuring that the inequities in health care for women will be addressed. Health care in the United States is growing increasingly expensive every day and women often bear the brunt of the soaring costs.

"Women are the gatekeepers of their families' health. If we are serious about keeping children and families healthy, we must focus more attention on keeping women healthy," said Senator Stabenow.
